Manage sensors
Ways to manage
To manage your DigiCert® sensors from the Discovery & automation tools > Sensors page in DigiCert® Trust Lifecycle Manager:
To manage a single sensor, select actions from the rightmost table column. Or, open the sensor and select the actions from the right of the details page.
To bulk manage multiple sensors at once, select them in the table and then select a bulk action from the table header.
You can also manage the sensor service on the host system where it's installed, using the standard operating system tools there. See the Sensor service name on the local host section for information about the name of the active sensor service on different OSs.
Management actions in Trust Lifecycle Manager
Available management actions in Trust Lifecycle Manager depend on the current sensor status and whether the action is run for an individual sensor or multiple sensors in bulk. The following tables summarize possible actions by category.
Configuration
Action | Description |
---|---|
Edit sensor name | Change the nickname assigned to a sensor to help identify it in Trust Lifecycle Manager. |
Update business unit | Assign or update the business unit a sensor is assigned to. Only admins for the business unit can manage the assigned sensors. |
Software updates
Action | Description |
---|---|
Enable/Disable auto-update | Enable or disable the software auto-update feature for sensors. When enabled, each sensor automatically keeps itself up-to-date by pulling new software versions from Trust Lifecycle Manager. |
Update version | Manually update the software on a sensor when a new version is available and auto-update is disabled. |
Operational
Action | Description |
---|---|
Reinstate/Suspend | Temporarily suspend sensor operations, or reinstate a suspended sensor. |
Void | Permanently remove a sensor from operation. |
View sensor alerts in the dashboard
In your account dashboard in Trust Lifecycle Manager, the Alerts widget includes a section for Sensors that lists the number of sensors in your account with a Communication error
or other statuses that may require attention.
Select the alerts here to load the applicable sensors into the Discovery & automation tools > Sensors page where you can take action on them.
