FedRAMP administrative account terminology

DigiCert ONE provides one customer account containing standard users and service users. Each user has credentials, and their assigned roles determine what they can access and manage.

FedRAMP uses the terms top-level administrative account and privileged account. In DigiCert ONE, these terms refer to users whose assigned roles grant the corresponding administrative or privileged access. They do not represent separate types of DigiCert ONE accounts.

FedRAMP uses specific terms for administrative users. The following table explains how those terms apply to DigiCert ONE.

Top-level administrative account

A user assigned Account admin and User Manager, or a custom Account Manager role containing Manage accounts and Manage users

Privileged account

A user assigned Account admin, User manager, or an administrative role for a product:

DigiCert ONE does not provide a single built-in role that grants complete account control. Privileged account guidance for individual products is provided in each product’s secure configuration guide.
