Learn how to replace an organization contact
When adding an organization to CertCentral, you’re required to add a contact for the organization. You can only assign one organization contact to the organization.
What is an organization contact?
The organization contact is a person who works for the organization and with whom DigiCert can communicate if issues arise during the validation process.
When adding a new organization contact, we may contact the organization directly to verify the individual's name, email, phone number, and job title.
Depending on your account notification settings, the organization contact may also receive the following emails:
Organization status updates
Order status updates for certificates requested for the organization
Domain status updates for domains assigned to the organization
Can I replace the organization contact assigned to the organization contact?
Yes, you may replace the organization contact from the organization's details page.
Before you begin
Items to note when replacing the organization contact:
The new organization contact replaces the one currently assigned to the organization.
The organization contact replacement isn’t retroactive and doesn’t affect existing certificate orders, issued or pending.
Organization validation isn’t affected when replacing the organization contact. However, we may contact the organization directly to verify the individual's name, email, phone number, and job title.
Replace the organization contact
In CertCentral, go to Certificates > Organizations.
For CertCentral Subscription accounts, go to Validation > Organizations.
On the Organizations page, in the Name column, select the organization for which you’re replacing the organization contact.
On the organization's details page, in the Organization Contacts section, next to Organization contact (?), select the replace contact icon.
In the Replace contact window, do one of the following:
Option 1: Replace the organization contact with an existing contact
Select Existing contact.
In the Contacts menu, select the contact.
If needed, add a job title and phone number for the contact.
Select Replace.
Option 2: Replace the organization contact by adding a new contact
Select New contact.
Enter the contact’s information: first and last name, job title, email address, and phone number.
Select Replace.
What's next
The next time you order a certificate that includes the organization contact's information, you should see the newly assigned organization contact's information.
