Vouchers
Vouchers are prepaid codes redeemable for a pre-configured SSL certificate product. DigiCert partners can order vouchers for customers with new or existing CertCentral accounts. Each voucher has a unique code redeemable once. To enable the voucher feature for your account, contact your DigiCert account manager.
The typical voucher workflow is:
Configure and purchase voucher codes for your customer.
Distribute the voucher codes to your customer manually by email or another preferred method.
Track the status of your voucher codes. Vouchers expire one year after purchase and must be redeemed before expiration.
Purchase a voucher
Vouchers can only be purchased by DigiCert partners with the voucher feature enabled.
In the CertCentral main menu, go to Finances > Vouchers Codes.
Select Add New Voucher.
Enter an optional Customer name and Notes to track which customer the voucher is for and any relevant information such as an invoice number.
Notice
Each voucher order should be used by a single customer. If ordering vouchers for multiple customers, place separate orders for each customer.
For each voucher to order, select the Quantity, Certificate type, Validity, and Number of FQDNs and wildcards.
To add another certificate product to the order, select Add another product. The price of each product and the total order cost appear in the Transaction Summary.
Under Payment information, select a payment type.
Select Submit.
Distribute vouchers
In the CertCentral main menu, go to Finances > Vouchers Codes.
Find the voucher order to distribute.
Obtain the voucher codes using one of the following options:
Select Download CSV to download all voucher codes in the order as a CSV file.
Select the Order ID, then select Show codes to reveal the complete voucher code. Select Download PDF for a formatted coupon containing the voucher code, product details, and terms of use.
Send the voucher codes to the customer manually by email or another preferred method.
CertCentral automatically tracks the status of your voucher codes:
Status | Description |
|---|---|
Valid — unused | Voucher has not been redeemed |
Valid — used | Voucher has been redeemed |
Expired | Voucher was not redeemed before expiration |
Canceled | Voucher order was canceled |
How customers redeem vouchers
Customers redeem vouchers by entering the unique voucher code URL in their browser. The customer must sign in to an existing CertCentral account or create a new one.
The voucher is marked as Used when the customer places a certificate request. If the certificate is canceled or revoked within 30 days of the request date, a new request can be placed using the same voucher.
Cancel a voucher order
Voucher orders can be canceled for a full refund if all of the following conditions are met:
The voucher order was placed within 30 days of cancellation.
No voucher code in the order has been redeemed.
The entire voucher bundle is canceled together — individual voucher codes cannot be canceled or changed separately.
The voucher has not expired.
To cancel a voucher order:
In the CertCentral main menu, go to Finances > Vouchers Codes.
Find the voucher order to cancel.
Select the Order ID.
Select Cancel order and confirm the cancellation.
All voucher codes in the order are canceled and cannot be changed individually.
