Set up an authenticator application
DigiCert account supports three two-factor authentication (2FA) methods: authenticator app, email authentication, and client certificate authentication. These options are configured at the account level, and your account administrator determines which methods are available to you.
You may see one or more 2FA options in the sign in workflow. In both cases, the user invite email directs you to the password creation workflow where you can scan a QR code to configure your authenticator app.
Follow these instructions to set up your time-based one-time password (TOTP) authenticator app.
To set up 2FA from the welcome email
Open the email with the subject line: [Action required] Welcome to your DigiCert account.
Select Sign in.
Enter a password.
Open your authenticator application on your mobile phone.
Scan the QR code on the sign in screen.
In the One-time code field, provide the code as shown in your authenticator application.
Select Verify code.
Select the checkbox to accept the Services agreement.
Switch to the authenticator app
You can select the authenticator app during sign-in, if your account has it enabled. To set up the app, first enter the code sent to your email. Then scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
When you select a different method during sign-in, it doesn’t disable other methods. The account administrator decides which 2FA methods are enabled to users.

Begin the sign in workflow for DigiCert account.
Enter your username.
Select Next.
Enter a password.
Select Next.
Choose Select a different verification method.
Select Authenticator app.
Check your email for a security code and provide it on the Verify your email before setting up your authenticator app page.
Select Next.
Open your authenticator application on your mobile phone.
Scan the QR code on the sign in screen.
In the One-time code field, provide the code as shown in your authenticator application.
Select Verify code.
