Install and activate an ACME automation agent
Install the ACME automation agent on each standard host where you want to automate certificate management. The agent software is available for Windows and Linux.
Before you begin
You must have Administrator or Manager access in CertCentral
You must have administrator or root access on the host system
The host system must meet the system and network requirements for the ACME agent. See Before you automate: prerequisites and limitations.
Download the agent software
In the CertCentral main menu, go to Automation > Manage automation.
Select Download agent.
Select the operating system: Windows or Linux.
Save the installer file to the host system.
Install and activate on Windows
Unzip and run the DigiCert ADM Agent executable as an administrator on the certificate host.
Follow the prompts to install the agent.
After installation, the setup wizard starts activation automatically.
Select how the agent connects to the CertCentral cloud:
Direct, no proxy: Select if the agent connects directly.
My own proxy server: Select if connecting through a third-party proxy server. Enter the proxy server details when prompted.
DigiCert sensor as proxy: Select if connecting through a DigiCert sensor. Enter the sensor details when prompted.
Sign in with your CertCentral Administrator or Manager account credentials to activate the agent.
Select the division that owns or manages this host system.
Install and activate on Linux
Untar the installer file on the certificate host:
tar -xzvf <agent-file>.tar.gzChange into the installation directory and run the start script as root:
sudo ./start-adm-agent.shFollow the prompts to install and activate the agent.
Select how the agent connects to the CertCentral cloud:
Direct, no proxy: Select if the agent connects directly.
DigiCert sensor as proxy: Select if connecting through a DigiCert sensor. Enter the sensor details when prompted.
My own proxy server: Select if connecting through a third-party proxy server. Enter the proxy server details when prompted.
Sign in with your CertCentral Administrator or Manager account credentials to activate the agent.
Select the division that owns or manages this host system.
After activation, the agent appears in the Manage automation view in CertCentral.
Notice
To reinstall the ACME agent on a host, uninstall the existing agent first and then download and install a fresh agent.
