Complete validation from the Order details page (DV)
After submitting a DV certificate request, complete domain validation from the Order details page.
Complete validation
In the CertCentral main menu,
For Enterprise, Partner, or Legacy accounts: go to Certificates > Orders. On the Orders page, in the Order # column, select the certificate order number link.
For Subscription accounts: go to My Digital Trust Products > Certificates. On the Certificates page, in the Order # column, select the certificate order number link.
On the Order # details page, in the Certificate status section, check the order's issuance status. Confirm the order is waiting on domain validation to be completed.
When validation is complete, the Certificate status section no longer appears on the page.
Under What do you need to do, select the Prove control over your domain link.
In the Prove control over your domain window, in the Domain control validation (DCV) method menu, select your DCV method.
Notice
DNS TXT record is the recommended method as it is the least vulnerable to industry changes.
Complete the validation steps for your selected DCV method:
For DNS TXT record: See Add and validate a domain using DNS TXT record (Step II and Step III).
For DNS CNAME record: See Add and validate a domain using DNS CNAME record (Step II and Step III).
For HTTP Practical Demonstration: See Add and validate a domain using HTTP Practical Demonstration (Step II and Step III).
For email validation: See Validate a domain using email validation methods.
Notice
If the certificate includes multiple domains, complete the validation steps for each domain on the certificate before running the check. If any domain is missing the required validation artifact, the check fails.
Under 5. Complete domain validation, select Check site.
Trigger the check manually or wait for DigiCert's automatic DCV check to detect the validation artifact. See Automatic domain control validation (DCV) check .
When domain control is confirmed, delete the DNS TXT record, DNS CNAME record, or validation file used for the check.
DigiCert validates the domain after detecting the required validation artifact or receiving approval from the domain contact. When all domains are validated, DigiCert proceeds with certificate issuance.
