Renew a credential

This is currently available only to retail customers in Switzerland.
You can renew a credential if it:
is active and expires within 30 days, or
has expired.
You receive renewal reminder emails 30 days and 7 days before your credential expires.
Ways to renew a credential
You can renew an eligible credential in either of the following ways:
From a renewal reminder email: Select Renew Credential in the reminder email.
From Content Trust Manager: Renew the credential from the User credentials page.
Renew a credential from a reminder email
Open the renewal reminder email for the credential.
Select Renew Credential.
Review the credential details.
If the credential requires an authorized representative and one has not already been added to your account:
Add authorized representative
First name
Last name
Job title
Email address
Phone number
Add at least one authorized representative. You can add up to 15 authorized representatives.
An authorized representative is a person listed in your organization's company registry who has the authority to approve certificate requests. Before DigiCert can issue the renewed certificate, an authorized representative must:
Complete remote identity verification (RIV).
Approve the certificate request.
Select Renew.
Renew a credential from Content Trust Manager
In the Managers (
) menu, select Content Trust.In the Content Trust Manager menu, select Credentials > User credentials.
Locate the credential that you want to renew.
Select the More actions (⋮) menu for the credential, and then select Renew Credential.
Review the credential details.
If the credential requires an authorized representative and one has not already been added to your account:

What's next
After you renew your credential, complete remote identity verification (RIV).
Verify your identity
You receive an email with the subject Verify your identity. Complete remote identity verification (RIV) by using the IDnow AutoIdent mobile app to set up your Content Trust Manager account.
If you use a ZertES or eIDAS certificate
You receive an email with the subject Sign with your digital ID. If you already have the Go>Sign Mobile app installed and configured for your expired credential, you can ignore this email. No further action is required.
If you do not have Go>Sign Mobile installed and configured, scan the QR code in the email to configure two-factor authentication (2FA) in the app.
If you use an AATL certificate
You receive an email with the subject Sign with your digital ID. Scan the QR code in the email to configure 2FA in your authenticator app.
