Understand Multi-year Plans
Annual plans
As of February 24, 2026, DigiCert TLS/SSL certificate plans are one year by default. Learn more about DigiCert annual plans.
A DigiCert® Multi-year Plan (MyP) allows you to pay a single price for up to 3 years of TLS/SSL certificate coverage. Multi-year Plans apply to Enterprise, Partner, and Legacy accounts. Subscription accounts do not offer Multi-year Plans.
How Multi-year Plans work
With a Multi-year Plan:
Select a certificate that supports Multi-year Plans, the duration of coverage, and the certificate validity period
DigiCert issues the first certificate with a maximum validity of 199 days
When the certificate approaches expiration, reissue it at no extra cost to use the remaining coverage on the plan
Continue reissuing until the plan expires
When the plan approaches expiration, renew the plan and certificate together
Reissuing a certificate does not update the expiring certificate on your website automatically. You must replace the expiring certificate with the reissued certificate on your server.
Revalidation during a Multi-year Plan
Depending on your plan length and certificate type, you may need to revalidate domains and organizations multiple times during the plan period:
Domain validation reuse is limited to the allowed reuse period. Revalidate domains before the reuse period expires to avoid certificate issuance delays.
OV organization validation reuse is limited to the allowed reuse period. Revalidate organizations before the reuse period expires.
Multi-year Plan coverage limits
Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) and Flat Fee contracts support 1 and 2-year Multi-year Plans
Standard accounts support up to 3-year Multi-year Plans where available
Accessing legacy Multi-year Plan orders after converting to Subscription
After converting to a Subscription account, existing Multi-year Plan orders remain accessible from the Legacy Orders page:
In the CertCentral menu, go to My Digital Trust Products > Legacy Orders.
Select the order number for the Multi-year Plan certificate you need to reissue.
