View agent details

Go to Discovery & automation tools > Agents to see all the active DigiCert​​®​​ agents installed on your host systems and activated for use with DigiCert​​®​​ Trust Lifecycle Manager.

Select an agent by name to view and edit its details.

Operational summary

The summary at the top of the agent details page shows:

  • Status: Current agent status.

  • Hostname: Hostname or IP address of the system where this agent is installed.

  • Agent version: Agent software version.

  • Scan frequency: If the agent is configured to perform system scans, this shows the scan frequency setting.

  • Scan progress: The progress of the current system scan, if applicable.

  • Next scheduled run: The date and time of the next scheduled system scan, if applicable.

Assets found

This area shows the number of digital trust assets associated with the agent, organized by asset type:

  • Managed certificates: The number of certificates currently under management by this agent.

  • Discovered: The number of certificates discovered by this agent.

  • Keys: The number of cryptographic keys discovered by this agent.

  • Unsecured IP/ports: The number of IP/port endpoints discovered by this agent that do not currently have certificates installed on them.

Dica

Select the counts here to load the assets into Inventory, where you can view details and manage them.

Agent details tabs

The remaining agent details are organized into tabs below the assets found section:

  • Agent name: Name assigned to this agent.

  • Auto-update: Whether the agent software is set to automatically update when a new version is available.

  • Operating system: Host operating system (OS) name.

  • Operating system version: The version of the host operating system (if known).

  • Business unit: The business unit this agent is assigned to. Only admins assigned to this business unit can manage the agent.

  • Group: The agent group this agent belongs to, if it belongs to one.

  • Date deployed: Date and time this agent was first deployed.

  • Last updated: Date and time this agent was last updated.

The list of IP addresses and ports found by this agent on the local server:

  • An IP/port target that has been configured for management by the agent shows the applicable server application and version here.

  • IP/port targets that do not show a server application or version here need to be configured before the agent can automate certificates on them.

Server Name Indication (SNI)

Whether SNI is enabled for the agent so it can manage certificates for different domains on a single IP/port.

If SNI is enabled for the agent, it lists the configured domain names (manual configuration) or the name of the SNI information script used to learn them (dynamic configuration).

Pre/post-install scripts

Any pre-installation or post-installation scripts configured on the agent, per web server application. See Agent scripts.

Post-install service restart

Whether the agent is configured to automatically restart the web server application after installing a certificate.

Admin request delivery location

The directory where the agent will deliver certificates enrolled using the admin web request method.

Scan configuration

The current system scan configuration:

  • What to scan for: Digital trust asset types the agent scans for.

  • Assign and identify assets: The business unit and tag names the agent assigns to discovered assets, if applicable.

  • Schedule: When the agent is configured to run system scan(s).

Upcoming scans

Details about future system scans scheduled for this agent. Select the actions menu next to the start time to skip a future scan.

Past scans

Details about past system scans run by this agent. Select the actions menu next to the start time to remove the record of a past scan.

Advanced settings

  • Agent communication interval: The heartbeat interval at which this agent contacts Trust Lifecycle Manager to learn about scheduled automation requests or updates (default is 30 seconds). DigiCert agents use a pull communications model to sync with Trust Lifecycle Manager.

  • Enable debug logging: Whether the agent is configured to enable more detailed debug-level logging.

Email notification recipients

The list of users who receive notifications about this agent. The user who installed the agent receives notifications by default.

Download agents report

An agents report exports data about your DigiCert agents to an XLS spreadsheet. You can use filters to control which agents and fields to include in the report.

To download an agents report from Trust Lifecycle Manager:

  1. In the Trust Lifecycle Manager main menu, select Discovery & automation tools > Agents.

  2. Use the column header filters in the table to control which agents to include in the report.

  3. To control which data fields to include for each agent, open the table settings on the top-right of the table and select Add columns.

  4. When the table shows the agents and fields you want to include, open the download icon on the top-right of the table and select Instant download.
