Reset a locked one-time password method

Reset a user's OTP method when they are locked out after entering an incorrect passcode too many times. A locked OTP method prevents the user from signing in until an administrator resets it.

Before you begin

  • You must have Administrator access to reset locked OTP methods.

  • Confirm the user is locked out. The account appears as locked in the OTP methods table.

Reset a locked OTP method

  1. In the CertCentral main menu, go to Settings > Authentication Settings.

  2. Select the Two-factor authentication tab.

  3. Select One-time password (OTP) methods.

  4. Locate the locked user.

  5. Select Reset.

CertCentral sends the user an email with instructions to configure a new OTP method. The user configures the new method the next time they sign in.
