Turn off SAML certificate requests

Turning off SAML certificate requests permanently deletes your federation settings and cannot be undone. After turning off:

  • All certificate request federation settings are deleted

  • The SAML certificate requests URL is disabled

  • SAML users can no longer access their certificate requests account to request, download, or revoke client certificates

Notice

The Turn off SAML Certificate Requests and delete settings option only appears if SAML certificate requests has been configured for your account.

Delete federation settings

  1. In the CertCentral main menu, go to Settings > SAML Certificate Requests.

  2. On the SAML Certificate Requests page, select Edit Federation Settings.

  3. On the Federation Settings page, select Turn off SAML Certificate Requests and delete settings.

  4. In the Turn off SAML Certificate Requests and delete settings window, read the information carefully.

    Warning

DigiCert does not store federation settings. Deleting federation settings cannot be undone.

  5. When ready, select Turn off SAML Certificate Requests and delete settings.

After SAML certificate requests are turned off, the SAML certificate requests URL no longer works and users cannot access their certificate requests account. Users who need to request, download, or revoke a client certificate must contact a CertCentral administrator or manager.

Turn on or restore SAML certificate requests

To turn on SAML certificate requests again or restore SAML user access after turning off, reconfigure SAML certificate requests. See Configure SAML certificate requests.

Before reconfiguring, confirm that your IdP metadata and SAML assertion field mappings are current. If a SAML user's data is missing from the IdP metadata, that user cannot access their certificate requests account after reconfiguration.
