Device groups
Device group types
Review the following group types:
Type | Description |
---|---|
Static group | When you register a device, you must first associate the device with a static group. Afterwards, you can configure the device's inventory attribute to automatically re-associate the device to a dynamic group. To learn more about device attributes, see Device attributes. |
Dynamic group | A dynamic group indicates that a device has been automatically added to a group, based on the device's inventory attributes or labels. For example, a dynamic group can be created and populated only with devices that contains the following inventory attribute: “Operating System” equals “Windows” and “Version” equals “11” |
