Add and enable your SMTP email server

If your business needs to deliver notifications through your own SMTP email server instead of through DigiCert, configure and enable your server in your Alerts delivery settings. This allows your business to maintain any internal compliance policies, present a familiar sender to your recipients, and help avoid junk mail filters.

Important

DigiCert must validate your SMTP email server before it can be configured in your Alerts delivery settings. Contact DigiCert Support to request permission to deliver notifications through your server. Call us with your SMTP hostname and port.

Add and enable an email server for email notifications

  1. Sign into your DigiCert application and go to the alerts tool.

    • Trust Lifecyle Manager: Policies > Alerts

  2. Select the Delivery settings tab.

  3. Select the Email tile.

  4. Select Add.

  5. Enter the email server Hostname and Port.

  6. Enter the server authentication credentials: Username and Password.

  7. Select the Encryption type.

  8. Enter the From email address (the email address that appears in the From field in delivered notifications).

  9. Select Add email server. The new configuration is added to your email server inventory.

  10. For the new email server, select the More actions menu (3 vertical dots) at the end of the row and select Enable. A confirmation window appears.

  11. Select Enable to confirm.

All email notifications triggered by active alerts will now be sent through your email server.
