Add a plugin connector
After you add a plugin in DigiCert® Trust Lifecycle Manager, you can use the plugin by creating one or more plugin connectors. Each connector configures a single instance of the plugin.
Add the connector
From the Trust Lifecycle Manager menu, go to Integrations > Connectors > Add connector.
Select the plugin you want to use.
Discovery plugins are included in the Scan solutions category.
Automation plugins are included in the Appliances category.
Certificate delivery plugins are included in the Vaults category.
Configure the settings for the plugin instance on the Add Connector page. Configuration sections and fields depend on the JSON configuration file that was added in Trust Lifecycle Manager for the plugin.
The following fields are always required:
Name: Enter a name for the plugin connector.
Business unit: Select a business for this plugin connector. Only users assigned to this business unit can manage this connector.
Managing sensor: Selection of a DigiCert sensor is always required. The sensor is part of the
core_settingsin the JSON configuration and is required for plugin operation.Note
The sensors you can choose in the Managing sensor dropdown depend on the OS (Linux, Windows, Cross platform) that was selected when adding the plugin.
Any other fields come from the
config_settingsandadditional_settingssections in the plugin's JSON configuration. For example, an automation plugin for a network appliance may include the following fields:Management IP: Management IP address for the appliance to manage through this connector.
Management port: Management port number for the appliance.
Credentials: User credentials to access and manage the appliance.
Select Add to add the plugin connector.
What's next
Once you create the plugin connector, you can use the standard functions in Trust Lifecycle Manager to manage certificates for the target system in that connector. Available certificate management actions depend on the plugin type:
Discovery plugins: Import certificates and endpoint data from the target system into your inventory.
Automation plugins: Use the managed automation solution to automate certificate lifecycles on the target system.
Certificate delivery plugins: Use the Admin web request function to request certificates with automated delivery to the target system.
