Send subaccount invitations
Send a subaccount invitation to let the customer create their own CertCentral subaccount. The customer receives an email with a link to provide their contact and organization information and set up their account credentials.
Notice
Subaccounts added via invitation are automatically set to self-billing with default CertCentral pricing. To configure billing and pricing settings before the customer accesses their account, use Create and configure a subaccount instead.
Before you begin
Review subaccount types to confirm which type fits your customer's needs. See Subaccount types.
Subaccounts must be enabled for your account. Contact your DigiCert account manager if subaccounts are not available.
You must be signed in as an administrator. No other user role can create subaccounts.
For managed subaccounts, use the DigiCert API instead of this procedure. See Managed subaccounts.
Send an invitation
In the CertCentral main menu, go to Subaccounts.
On the Subaccounts page, select Invite subaccount.
In the Invite subaccount window, complete the following:
Enter the recipient's Email address.
Select a Subaccount type. Once the subaccount is added, contact your account manager to change it to a different type.
Select Send a custom message to include a personalised message in the invitation email.
Select Send invitation.
DigiCert sends the user an email with a link to create their CertCentral subaccount. They provide their contact and organization information and set up their username and password. Once complete, a CertCentral subaccount is created automatically and they can begin ordering products.
Invitations expire 30 days after sending. After expiry, DigiCert automatically sends the subaccount contact an email with the subject [Action required] Welcome to DigiCert account with a link for signing in to their DigiCert account.
Notice
If your CertCentral Partner account uses the DigiCert single sign-on experience, the subaccount contact uses DigiCert account to add and assign users to CertCentral. See User management tasks: CertCentral versus DigiCert account.
Manage invitations
Track the status of sent invitations, resend or cancel an invitation, or see who sent it.
