Create initial partner subaccounts for Partner accounts

Create subaccounts to manage customers independently within your Partner account. Subaccounts allow you to separate customer environments while maintaining centralized oversight of billing, users, and certificate management.

Create a partner subaccount

  1. In the CertCentral main menu, go to Account > Subaccounts.

  2. Select Add subaccount.

  3. Enter the customer account name.

  4. Configure account settings, including billing and access preferences.

  5. Assign users and roles for the subaccount.

  6. Select Save.

How subaccounts work

Subaccounts operate as independent customer environments:

  • Each subaccount manages its own certificates and domains

  • Users can be assigned at the subaccount level

  • Billing can be centralized or managed per subaccount

  • The partner account retains visibility across all subaccounts

Use subaccounts to maintain clear separation between customers while preserving centralized control.

To create and configure subaccounts for your customers, see Subaccount management.

For API-only managed subaccounts, see Managed subaccounts.
