CertCentral: Approve the new user and assign permission

After a user accepts their CertCentral invitation, CertCentral administrators receive an email notification. Before the user can access their CertCentral service, a CertCentral administrator must approve the new user request and assign them a role and division restrictions, if using divisions.

Approve the new user, assign a user role, and set up division restrictions

  1. In CertCentral, go to Account > User Invitations.

  2. On the User Invitations page, locate the user, and next to Date Created, select Details.

  3. On the User Invitation to… page, review the information the user provided and select Approve.

  4. In the Approve User Invitation window, configure the user's role and CertCentral access:

    1. Restrict the user to divisions.

This option only appears if you are using divisions in CertCentral.

When using divisions restrictions, users can only access the selected divisions. See Unrestricted versus restricted.

      1. Select Restrict this user to specific divisions.

      2. In the User is restricted to the following divisions menu, select the divisions the user can access.

    2. Assign a user role.

Under Role, select a role for the user: Standard User, Manager, Finance Manager, Administrator. See Roles and CertCentral access.

To assign the user a Limited User role, under Standard User, select Limit to placing and managing their own orders. A Limited User can only view and access their own orders.

  5. When ready, select Approve.

What's next

The new user receives an email notification that their CertCentral access has been approved. The email includes a link to DigiCert account sign-in. This time when the user selects CertCentral, they land on the CertCentral dashboard.
