Default business unit
New accounts come with a single business unit called Default Business Unit that has all the seat licenses allocated to it.
Depending on your digital trust management needs, you can use this default business unit for everything, or you can create your own business units to better organize your assets.
Note
We recommend creating your own business units if you expect to have a lot of certificates under management.
Manage the default seat allocations
If you plan to use your own business units, you first need to de-allocate seats from the default business unit. The seats can then be allocated to your own business units and used to enroll and manage certificates there.
To de-allocate seats from the default business unit:
From the main menu, select Account > Business units.
Locate the Default Business Unit and edit it one of two ways:
Hover your mouse over the business unit name and select the edit (pencil) icon.
Select the business unit name to view the details and select the edit icon from there.
Reduce the number of seats of each type by the amount you want to allocate to other business units, or change to 0 to de-allocate all of them.
Select Update to save your changes.
The de-allocated seats are immediately available to allocate to other business units that you create or edit.
Warning
Seats that are already consumed need to be deleted before they can be de-allocated. To learn more, see Delete seats.
