Invite a user

Invite one or more users to join your CertCentral account. Each invited user receives an email with instructions to create account credentials. An administrator then approves the user access.

Before you begin

  • You must have Administrator access to invite users.

  • For single sign-on accounts, you must enable SAML single sign-on before you invite a user who authenticates through your identity provider.

  • If the user will request EV certificates, their profile must include a phone number and job title.

  • To add a service user with API-only access, generate an API key instead. See Generate an API key.

  • For DigiCert account–managed environments, add the user in your DigiCert account first, then assign CertCentral roles and division access. See DigiCert Account provisioning.

Send an invitation

  1. In the CertCentral main menu, go to Account > User Invitations.

  2. Select Invite new user.

  3. Enter one or more email addresses separated by commas.

  4. (Optional) To restrict the user to single sign-on access only, select SAML Single Sign-on (SSO) only.

    Notice

This option disables all other authentication methods for the user. On the enrollment form, SSO-only invitees add only their personal information.

  5. (Optional) To include a message in the invitation email, select Send custom message and enter the message.

  6. Select Send invitation.

CertCentral sends an invitation email to each address. The invitation remains pending until the recipient accepts it and an administrator approves the request.
