If your organization has subsidiaries or divisions it may be useful to you to create additional organizations to keep operations distinct and manageable.
Your organization in Account Manager is available for selection in the Organization field when creating certificates in specific DigiCert ONE managers.
Your organization is used to auto-populate your organization details for the creation of:
Privately trusted:
Root CA certificates in CA Manager
Intermediate CA (ICA) certificates in CA Manager
SSL/TLS certificates in Trust Lifecycle Manager
Code signing certificates in Software Trust Manager
Publicly trusted:
Document signing certificates in Document Trust Manager
SSL/TLS certificates in Trust Lifecycle Manager
Organizations in Account Manager are not vetted by default because they are generally used for private trust certificates. Privately trust certificates are used within private systems and are not accessible to the public. This provides you with more flexibility, like naming your organization based on a division within your company rather than an actual subsidiary.
Note
Document Trust Manager exception
Document Trust Manager is the only DigiCert ONE service that uses your organization in Account Manager for publicly trusted certificates. Publicly trusted certificates must be validated to ensure that your organization details meet compliance standards set by DigiCert, the CA/Browser Forum, and other regulatory bodies.
Note: To avoid delays in the issuance of your certificate, we recommend that you provide the organization name that matches your registration documents, as well as the official address and telephone number for the organization.
