Create a custom attribute

To create a custom attribute, perform the following steps:

  1. From the DigiCert​​®​​ Trust Lifecycle Manager main menu, select Account > Settings > Custom attributes.

  2. Select Add custom attributes to add an attribute.

  3. On the Add custom attributes popup, select the Add another custom attribute link.

  4. Enter the following details:

    • Attribute name: Name of the custom attribute.

    • Field type: The kind of input a user can enter or select on web browser. The available options are:

      • Text field: If selected, the users can enter text in the custom attribute.

      • Dropdown: If selected, the users can choose from a predefined list of attribute for the custom attribute. Enter the attribute values you want to append in the dropdown list.

      • Fixed value: If selected, the custom attribute will have a fixed value. Enter the fixed value you want to assign for the custom attribute.

    • Default value: The entered value will appear as default value for the custom attribute. This field does not appear if the Field type is Fixed value value.

    • Required: If this checkbox is selected the attribute name will be marked a mandatory field in the Create profile page. To mark the attribute name as a mandatory field, you must select a default value from the dropdown list. If this checkbox is not selected then this attribute name will be an optional field.

  5. Select Save. The added attributes are listed on the Custom attributes page.

Note

You can set up a maximum of 15 custom attributes for an account.

The configured custom attributes appear on the following pages:

  • Create certificate profile (Policies > Certificate profiles > Create profile from template > Template > Create certificate profile > Additional options > Custom attributes)

  • Admin web request (Enrollments > Admin web request)

    Note

    Make sure that you select the certificate profile in which the custom attribute is configured.

  • Inventory (Inventory > Add filters and columns > Add columns)
